Only two days till the Draft night and the Hawks are learning toward teen sensation Luka Doncic, who was national champion with Real Madrid last tuesday beating Baskonia in four games. The slovenian would be the third pick according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
With the Suns reportedly set on Arizona’s Deandre Ayton with the top overall pick, Doncic would have to fall past just one team, the Kings at No. 2, for the Hawks to have a shot at Doncic. Per Wojnarowski, general consensus has the Kings talking Duke big Marvin Bagley III.
At just 19, the 6-7 combo guard became the youngest player to win the Liga ACB MVP, the Euroleague MVP and the Euroleague Final Four MVP. He also won the Euroleague Rising Star and Liga ACB Best Young Player awards for the second straight season. In doing so he averaged 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists in 25 minutes over 61 total games.
Luka Doncic has moved to forefront of Atlanta’s internal conversation on the third overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft, league sources tell ESPN. Michigan State’s Jaren Jackson and Duke’s Marvin Bagley (if Kings pass on Bagley at No. 2) remain in contention for No. 3.
