Real Madrid swingman Rudy Fernández will be out between two and three months after aggravating his back injury, Diario AS reported today. Fernández had been dealing with lower back pain since last summer, but he kept playing until last Friday, when he logged just 10 minutes in Real’s fifth Euroleague loss in Belgrade. He couldn’t suit up for Sunday’s game at Bilbao and now he will have to stop for an extended period of time.

Rudy’s chronic back problems were the main reason he had to leave the NBA. It is assumed he will have surgery again.
